At the heart of TKA’s Sixth Form culture is a belief in the importance of participation and leadership in the wider school community. Our ‘TKA6’ Sixth Form reward scheme encourages students to seek out opportunities to develop leadership skills as well as fostering a philosophy of ‘giving back’. TKA6 will reward and recognise a range of activities and students are encouraged to develop their leadership capacity through taking on roles such as:
Sixth Form Reading Mentor
Sixth Form Maths Mentor
Homework club helper
Library - KS3 Reading club support
SRP Enrichment support staff
Cucina worker - Paid opportunity to work with the school’s catering team
Y7 Summer Camp support staff
Coaching and refereeing support for KS3 sports teams
The Sixth Form Prefect team is a key part of our Sixth Form Leadership model. Students who take up these coveted roles are elected by both Sixth Form students and staff to represent the student body each year. They meet on a weekly basis and spearhead student initiatives such as the KS3 talent show, fundraising drives and staff vs student sporting competitions.
