At The Kingston Academy, our aim is to provide an exceptional quality of education, not just in terms of our teaching, but in the richness of the experiences, resources, and opportunities we offer every child. To do that, we believe in investing beyond what the core funding allows; in creating an environment where students feel inspired and supported, in every subject, every day. It is this belief that motivates the relaunch of our Voluntary Fund for 2025–26.
Over recent years, as with many schools nationwide, The Kingston Academy has faced increasing challenges, which make it harder to make provision beyond our core offer:
Costs faced by schools have been rising faster than the funding provided by the government
Government funding often does not stretch to cover significant capital or specialist items (for instance, upgrades to classroom technologies, performance spaces, sports facilities)
The cost of maintaining and upgrading facilities, replacing worn or obsolete specialist tools, or introducing new technologies can be unpredictable and difficult to plan for within a single academic year
To maintain exceptional standards, we must ensure that the school environment keeps pace, not only with educational best practice, but with the expectations of the students, parents, and staff who strive daily for excellence
Much like other leading schools, we have seen first-hand that voluntary contributions from our parent community make a transformative difference. Your contributions to the Voluntary Fund allow us to plan and deliver projects that:
Equip specialist rooms and labs with up-to-date, high quality apparatus and technology needed to support subjects across the arts, humanities and across STEM subjects. These items are typically exceptional, needed replacement once in a while and cannot ordinarily be met through our curriculum budget.
Improve or build capital facilities that enrich all students’ learning environment (e.g. performance / theatre spaces, upgraded sports or arts facilities)
Fund enhancements to our facilities and resources that bring us to "exceptional quality,” rather than just adequate.
You’ll see in the attached 2025-26 Voluntary Fund pamphlet, an update on what your support has already made possible. From specialist equipment purchases, to facility upgrades, to improved resources across subject areas, your generosity has already created tangible improvements for all pupils.

Whatever amount you are comfortable giving, every pound counts. Your gift, large or small, will be used strategically to further support and resource the outstanding education we provide.
If you are a UK tax payer, making a Gift Aid Declaration will boost your contribution by 25p in every pound. For any donation made, you will be prompted to tick a box to support Gift Aid if you wish to.
You can be assured that contributions to the Voluntary Fund will be handled with transparency, care, and accountability. Each donation will go directly toward the kinds of enhancements that uphold and enhance exceptional quality, supporting all pupils during their entire time with us. We want to emphasise that every child at The Kingston Academy will continue to benefit fully from all educational opportunities, regardless of their family’s capacity to contribute. No student will ever be in any way disadvantaged or excluded from experiences or resources because of financial circumstances.
Donations can be made directly via the following link.
If you do have any query about how to donate or have any questions about the donation process, please direct these to Mr Brook, Associate Headteacher.
