We had another brilliant author visit from Rachel Delahaye on Monday. She spoke to Year 8 about always leaving the door open for reading, even if you're not enjoying it right now, and to Year 9 about the importance of writing and reading dystopian fiction. She also popped in to say hello to our book club since they are currently reading one of her fantastic books, 'Day of the Whale'.
Here's what the pupils had to say about her visit:
‘It was very honest and entertaining.’ Amir - Y8
‘It was very informative and very entertaining.’ Lukas - Y8
'I was fascinated by the fact that science fiction books could inspire and predict the future.’ Hamza - Y9
‘It had a lot of interesting information about dystopian fiction. I found it really interesting that a lot of dystopian books have predicted the future. It was also really nice how she engaged the audience.’ Lauren, Georgia & Jess - Y9
‘The author visit was very interesting and informative. I learnt loads about dystopian fiction which was great. We were also introduced to ‘Electric Life’ which sounds great.' Micah - Y9
